LAWMA Academy March Interns Visit Sonnex Recycling Facility.
The Greencycle team paid an educational visit to Sonnex Recycling Facility, a Lagos pioneering foodware recycling company. The visit was designed to provide in-depth knowledge of the plastic recycling process as well as explore operational best practices.
From the collection of bailed plastic bottle waste to the production of high-quality flakes and pellets, the interns witnessed the step-by-step transformation of waste into valuable raw materials.
They explored key processes such as washing, sorting, metal detection, and automated color separation, each crucial for ensuring quality output.
The visit also highlighted the importance of laboratory testing in maintaining industry standards.
The visit provided the interns with valuable insight into the plastic recycling process, highlighting the importance of efficient waste management practices.
This engagement has provided the interns with hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of the recycling industry and circular economy at large.
